P6 Guaranteed Results© Programme
MERCU™ introduced its Guaranteed Results©Programme to assure parents that their children will pass their PSLE and move on to Secondary 1. Parents will be refunded up to 50%* of their total tuition fees should their children be posted to Normal Technical in Secondary 1.
Since its inception in 2003, we have seen a steady increase in the number of students who improve in their grades. Our classes are conducted in small groups of no more than eight, to promote peer learning and encourage active discussion. It is a programme which incorporates the following features:

PSLE Intensive Revision Workshop
The PSLE Intensive Revision workshop spans for 2 months from August to September. It aims to prepare our P6 students for their PSLE in October.
In-house worksheets that follow closely to the PSLE Examination format with helpful revision notes on English, Math & Science will be provided for these students.

'O' Level Intensive Revision Workshop
The ‘O’ Level Intensive Revision workshop spans for 3 months from August to October. It aims to prepare Secondary 4/5 students for the GCE 'O' Level Examination in October / November.

S.I.M.P.L.E
Are your children having tough time tackling Math problem sums especially Heuristic Problem Sums? You can make it a lot easier for them with S.I.M.P.L.E!
In this 10-week programme, students will be exposed to the various questions that will be tested in Math examination papers. S.I.M.P.L.E aims to make these students adequately equipped with all the possible methods to combat Math problems. They will be taught how to apply the 4 principles of problem-solving: Understanding the Problem, Devise a Plan, Carry out the Plan and Looking back/Checking.

STEER
Comprehension and Composition are the important components of a typical English examination paper. However, students are not able to score high marks in English as these two components seemed to be an Achilles’ heel for them. On the contrary, students will be able to increase their marks if they can excel in these two sections.
In STEER, English Creative Writing programme, students will be guided to improve composition writing by exposing them to the frequent grammatical errors students make in compositions and the effective ways of the answering different types of compositions.
On top of that, they will learn the different answering techniques to tackle comprehension questions, such as by identifying the accurate reference and seeking correct information from the passages, etc.

Has it been difficult for you to motivate your child to study during the school holidays? It may be an uphill task for parents to get your child to study during the holidays but it is indeed a perfect time for students to catch up or improve on topics already learnt.
Our June Tuition Programme is conducted both indoor and outdoor. We infuse the learning element beyond the classroom.
June Tuition Programme
Primary 3 - 6
 Your child will be a participant in the ‘Amazing Race’ educational tour as we bring them to places like Sentosa, Botanical Gardens, Singapore Zoo and etc. These venues are not for sole purpose of sightseeing, but for experiential learning as they are being challenged with mind-boggling English, Maths & Science questions at the various checkpoints. It will test their understanding of the topics learnt in the 1st Semester. They will be both intrigued and elated to apply what they have learnt.
After the outdoor programme, we shall bring knowledge to MERCU™’s doorsteps where we unfold new topics to your child through various indoor classroom activities.
Secondary 1
An exciting islandwide Amazing Race awaits in June if your child takes 2 or more subjects. The race is not all fun and play. It incorporates National Education and students will be tasked to complete varied challenges related to English, Maths and Science.
Secondary 2
Beginning June 2011, MERCU™ would be organising a full day workshop for your child on Self Motivation, Examination Preparation and Career Planning & Guidance.
December Tuition Programme
Primary 3 - 6
In preparing your child for the new academic year, we have lined up a series of fun-filled and educational programme. Students will be given an insight on the new topics right before school term starts. So, it’s never too late to start!
Secondary 1
End the new academic year with an overseas 3 days 2 nights teambuilding camp. It would be an unforgettable experience for your child. Packed with exciting activities like water rafting/raft building, abseiling, teambuilding games/telematch, jungle survival orienteering and campfire.
NOTE: The holiday tuition programme is incorporated as part of the tuition programme for P3-P6. S1-2 programme is part of a 2-year enhancement programme and for students who enrol for 2 or more subjects. Tuition registration starts in November.

We encourage both parents and tutors to play an active role in the children’s academic development. Parent-Tutor Meetings will be held annually in June. This is a great opportunity for parents and tutors to update and discuss on ways to improve on the child’s weakness.
Since 2006, we have been awarding our TOP PSLE students with bursary ranging from $300 to $1500. To qualify, students would need to attain a minimum aggregate of 250 in their PSLE and must register in our P6 Guaranteed Results© Programme before end February.
